What do you find to be the best death scene in a movie? Doesn't matter what kind of movie or who it is.
I started this because I'm watchin Saving Private Ryan at work, and the scene where the medic dies is just way intense, I can't really think of a movie that has a better death in it.
I think SPR is just full of good death scenes.

Ok so when i first saw this I thought of Saving Private Ryan. I think the best one is when the American and the German are fighting in hand to hand combat and you see the German stab the American. It's like halfway through the movie.

Its a little more than half way, like towards the end. The jewish guy and the nazi is whispering to him. He is actually saying, if I recall, don't worry it'll be okay, accept it. Things like that.
That's a nuts ass death scene, especially because Upum is a bitch outside the door and the nazi walks past him.
But the medic seen is so depressing and stuff, like he's gurgling blood and stuff calling for his mama and what not. Dude got three things of morphine, that's a shit lot of morphine.

Honestly, the best death movie that made me go "wtf" for me was in the movie "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas", when the Jewish slave (Pavel) is serving food and accidentally spills some wine, because, well, he's literally dying of starvation so can't hold the bottle still. The Nazi that has Jewish ancestors kills him for it in front of his Captain/General so as to show that he is not a Jewish sympathizer.
Words don't describe it very well. I wish I could find a clip of it.
Edit: Found it!

It happens 3 minutes into this clip, but honestly just watch it from the beginning. The 3 minutes of tension that it builds up is worth it.

There are a lot of good death scenes, the ones that make you close your eyes because they're so intense are nuts.

i got three. one is the "death" of anakin when obi wan beats him on that lava planet. the part where he cuts off the rest of his limbs and then tells him how he was like a brother to him is probably one of the few scenes in the prequel trilogy with good acting.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xP3fI7yn5s go to about 7:50, or watch the whole thing for the lightsaber fight
the other is the death of boromir. just cuz he goes down like a beast. and has a heart to heart afterword
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20w-nuLcneU best one i could find. all the others had crappy music dubbed in. but its missing his actual death
and last but not least, rutger hauers defining moment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTzA_xesrL8
and fuck you if you disagree with that one.

I'd have to go with the whole scene in Apocalypse Now where Martin Sheen stalks and kills Marlon Brando.

Not of movie, but in the series Deadwood, the preacher gets a brain tumor and things get worse and worse for him. Eventually the town doctor prays to God to somehow relieve the preacher of his suffering. The next scene shows Al Swearengin the owner of the local whorehouse/saloon putting the preacher out of his misery. Amazing acting in that scene.

Yeah Lead. Looks badass. BoB was very good, and this looks on par or better. But no HBO for me, so I'll suffer for a few months. :X
